Established in the mid 1970's, Scorpion Volleyball Club has become the leading volleyball club in the Otago/Southland region. Scorpion Club has a strong tertiary focus after it merged with the Varsity team, allowing university students the opportunity to play within a club framework that offers administrative and coaching support.
Both the mens and womens teams compete in the South Island wide Southern League Competition with club teams from Christchurch and the Tasman area, as well as the New Zealand Volleyball Club Championships held at the end of the year.

Bill was the driving force in the Scorpion Club from its establishment until his retirement in 2011. Bill worked tirelessly to create a sound financial basis for the club which today’s athletes benefit from.
